The Best "Ala Pobre Steak" in Town!

After checking on the delivery of the oven I ordered for a new Pizza business I'm putting up with friends, I couldn't help but feel an urge to eat meat, steak in particular. I decided that my destination would be a well known buffet place for their unlimited steak for dinner, a place that I will review and blog about later in the future as things did not go as planned...

I was lost, unable to locate the nearest branch of the buffet place where I've decided to dine, and as I was about to give up and head home I saw..

Forgive the poor photo quality, I did not have my DSLR handy and that time.

Karlyn Food Station; most Davaoeños know about this restaurant, well known for their "Steak Ala Pobre". They also serve a lot of great food like; Beef Stroganoff, and Beef Caldereta, but for now we will be talking about their steak.

Cooked on a sizzling plate, at a counter near the tables. I salivate as I await my order...

I've cooked "Steak Ala Pobre" in the past, it is not a very difficult dish, but I can say that they have mastered it! I tried to ask the waitress about the preparation process, but to no avail...

 Simple yet delicious!

While waiting for my order I was given a small bowl of soup, beef broth with some cabbage in it, I believe it was "Nilagang Baka"(a type of beef soup). It was very good, great to have while waiting for my order.Which wasn't very long.

Sizzling, with a delicious aroma.

I couldn't help but immediately take a slice of it to taste, the taste of the meat and sauce exploded in my mouth, the soft texture of the meat made it easy to chew, it was so good that I didn't realize that it burnt my tongue until after I swallowed it.

The meat was so soft; you could almost eat it with just a spoon. The sauce was savory, coupled with the beef was, for the lack of a better word, AWESOME!

Not just for decoration...

Cooked with the Steak are mixed vegetables, at first it seems like they're just there for show, but their sweet buttery flavor goes really well with the whole dish.

Sweet, delicious, and free.

Just when I thought I couldn't eat another bite, the waiter brought a small plate of "Minatamis" (a sweet banana dish), it was complimentary. I've eaten this dish in the past, but this one was different, it wasn't too sweet, it was just the right amount of sweet.

My experience at Karlyn Food Station was excellent! Reasonable price(actually it was very affordable), great service, and Excellent Food! I will return to taste the rest of their menu. If you would like to try them out, you can find just before SM Ecoland, right at the entrance of  Doña Lusia. (forgive me, I am very bad at giving directions. It's very well known around that area you can ask for directions there.)
