Seafood at the Sky Garden

Dinner out with the family is something I look forward to, as it is a time talk about our lives and enjoy the company of the people you hold most dear. Though one evening at SM Lanang's sky garden, the table was silent, not because of some family squabble but because of the wonderful dining experience we had at...

I haven't tried their Tuna, but I can say that their seafood is something that I can definitely recommend! So I can confirm that at least half their slogan delivers.

We ordered the following that night: Their Swordfish soup, Hilabos na Hipon(Prawns), The Lechon Kawali(pork),  Grilled Bihod(Roe), and The Squid served on a sizzling plate. All of which had either a wonderful or Memorable flavor. I'll give you the detail of each and every dishes' flavor:

The Swordfish Soup:

I've had different kinds of fish and soups before, but this swordfish soup by far had the most memorable flavor. The aroma was inviting, the soup had a rich taste to it and matched the vegetables that was in it. But what was most memorable about this dish was the swordfish itself; it's texture was soft and had a, for the lack of a better word, forbidden taste to it. Not in a bad way though, in fact it was quite good! You'd have to try it for yourself to get what I mean.

The Hilabos na Hipon(Prawns):

To tell you the truth I'm not sure if it was Hilabos na Hipon, but it was Hipon and it was GOOD! The prawns being cooked in the sauce and soaked in it , had a wonderful flavor of the prawns sweet meat accompanied by the taste herbs and spices. My older brother, a big fan of Prawns and a picky eater, loved it!

The Lechon Kawali:

I love pork! This dish is done well, love the smell, love the taste, love everything!

The Grilled Bihod(Roe):

Grilled to perfection! Not burnt nor underdone, the flavor of the cooked Roe with the Atchara(pickeled unripe papaya and carrots) reminds you of a sunny day on the beach. For me, a Seafood meal is not complete without this.

The Squid:

It's hard to cook squid properly, even harder to cook it perfectly. The aroma of herbs and spices, the sweetness of the sauce, the soft meat of the perfectly cooked squid gave a flavor one can almost never forget.

The silence was broken only after the meal, and we had our usual dinner conversation, as any family we had our difference of opinion about things, but we all agreed that dinner that night was an excellent.
