After disappearing for 8 years, I review Chef G's Restaurant

Image
In 2015, as I disappeared into the rat-race that kept me from pursing my blogging career, a new restaurant opened it's doors and slowly made a name for itself. Chef G's is probably well known to many Davaoeños, the name of residents of my fair Davao City, while I've been far too busy frequenting the classics such as Bulcachong, Davao Famous, and Dencias , all of which I'll be writing about in a future posts. It was only earlier tonight when my uncle's girlfriend treated us to dinner to Chef G's did I realized how much I was missing out. And while there were misses during my dining experiences, it was nothing compared to the food that floored me for it's flavor and price. Let's talk about my experience at Chef G's. The Surprising Affordability  Picture of Chef G's Menu as of 04.12.2022 When we entered the open-air restaurant, smelled the aroma of the food served on sizzling plates, I though this would be the type that would be serving 200-300 pe...

Green Coffee One Peso Soft Opening Treat!

Image
The best things in life are free  comes at bargain price. The moment I saw this post by Greean Coffee, I was determined to be one of  the 100. Meticulous planning, strategy meeting with friends, Informing everyone I know about this (not really).  And all that planning paid off! (Again Not Really) It was around 2:40 in the afternoon when I got there,  and what awaited me was a multitude of people waiting for the store to open. (The photo above was taken after the store opened,) When I saw how many people there were, it was clear to me that I won't be able to avail the promo. So I, with the intent of conceding, head to the gate which was right in front of the entrance to the cafe, and had a bit of small talk with the people who positioned themselves there while waiting for the store to open. As I was just about to decide to leave; Fate, once again, intervened... I did not see nor hear how, but it seemed that someone, maybe the staff, or manager, or an ap...

Oh~! Delicious Chicken!

Image
When you ask a Filipino; "Where can I get good fried chicken?" majority will answer "Jollibee" and some "KFC" and the rest will name some other generic fried chicken fast food place. But we don't talk about fast food here! NOT IN MY BLOG! Sunburst, it's been a long time since I last dined here and their fried chicken is the same as always; Good! Unlike some establishments where you can no longer taste the same chicken you ate as a child, but I don't want to "buzz" about restaurants that lost quality, I want to talk about restaurants with good food! First off lets talk about the restaurant; the decor and overall style is simple yet it makes it cozy the way any Filipino restaurants should be. A place to relax and enjoy your casual meal with your family or friends and have a conversation. When I was there it was quite clean, and all the waiters were very attentive and polite. Now about the food, I have honest only t...

The Best "Ala Pobre Steak" in Town!

Image
After checking on the delivery of the oven I ordered for a new Pizza business I'm putting up with friends, I couldn't help but feel an urge to eat meat, steak in particular. I decided that my destination would be a well known buffet place for their unlimited steak for dinner, a place that I will review and blog about later in the future as things did not go as planned... I was lost, unable to locate the nearest branch of the buffet place where I've decided to dine, and as I was about to give up and head home I saw..  Forgive the poor photo quality, I did not have my DSLR handy and that time. Karlyn Food Station; most  Davaoeños know about this restaurant, well known for their "Steak Ala Pobre". They also serve a lot of great food like; Beef Stroganoff, and Beef Caldereta, but for now we will be talking about their steak. Cooked on a sizzling plate, at a counter near the tables. I salivate as I await my order... I've cooked "Steak Ala Pobr...

Seafood at the Sky Garden

Image
Dinner out with the family is something I look forward to, as it is a time talk about our lives and enjoy the company of the people you hold most dear. Though one evening at SM Lanang's sky garden, the table was silent, not because of some family squabble but because of the wonderful dining experience we had at... I haven't tried their Tuna, but I can say that their seafood is something that I can definitely recommend! So I can confirm that at least half their slogan delivers. We ordered the following that night: Their Swordfish soup, Hilabos na Hipon(Prawns), The Lechon Kawali(pork),  Grilled Bihod(Roe), and The Squid served on a sizzling plate. All of which had either a wonderful or Memorable flavor. I'll give you the detail of each and every dishes' flavor: The Swordfish Soup: I've had different kinds of fish and soups before, but this swordfish soup by far had the most memorable flavor. The aroma was inviting, the soup had a rich taste to...
